When I sat down to make this Coffee and a Card with an Easy Card Sketch, I wanted something that felt simple, calming, and doable from start to finish. This project is a great reminder that cardmaking doesn’t have to be complicated to be satisfying. With a clean layout and beautiful paper doing most of the work, this card comes together easily and still feels thoughtful and complete—perfect for a relaxed creative break.

This is the exact card we made during this week’s Coffee & a Card—our casual midweek craft break on Facebook where we chat, sip on our favorite beverage, and make something wonderful. And this card? It checks all the boxes: beginner-friendly, quick to assemble, and easy to adapt for masculine or thank you cards. The sketch gives you structure, while the designer paper brings all the personality.

The Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper really shines here. With its soft, moody artwork and old-world feel, it becomes the focal point without any extra effort. This paper is perfect when you want a card to feel thoughtful and a little artistic, especially for thank you cards or more masculine designs where you want interest without a lot of embellishment.

The Simply Said Stamp Set keeps things easy and versatile. Because it’s a sentiment-only set, it pairs beautifully with detailed paper like this. The simple greeting lets the artwork stand out, and it’s easy to switch the sentiment to fit whatever you need—thank you, thinking of you, or just a quick note of appreciation.

The color combination on this card is soft, grounded, and quietly elegant. Secret Sea gives the card a strong, steady base, while Cloud Cover lightens everything up and keeps the design from feeling heavy. Pecan Pie adds warmth and balance, tying in beautifully with the artwork in the designer paper.

Together, these colors create a calm, cohesive look that works especially well for thank you and masculine cards. Nothing feels loud or busy. Instead, the palette lets the scenery in the paper shine and gives the whole card a relaxed, timeless feel—perfect for a card you’ll actually want to send.

What I love most about this card is how approachable it is. This is a great project if you’re just getting started, short on time, or feeling a little unsure about where to begin. The sketch gives you confidence, the paper does the heavy lifting, and you’re left with a card that’s absolutely worth sending.

And that’s really the heart of Coffee & a Card. Taking a short break, making something by hand, and sending a little kindness out into the world. Cards like this make it easy to follow through, because they don’t ask a lot—but they give a lot in return.
